Thomas Gilgen, Founder and CEO
Runs the show. Somehow packs what feels like 65 years of experience into three decades in the industry, and still works like he eats, sleeps, and breathes freight forwarding.
Thomas has spent more than two decades building logistics companies across international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, project cargo, and time-critical transportation. He started in Switzerland in 1997, moved to the U.S. in 2004, and helped scale Weiss-Rohlig USA from a startup into a mid-sized forwarder. In 2015 he joined Magnate Worldwide as the international logistics expert and helped expand the platform through both acquisitions and organic development, culminating in a highly successful exit in 2022 that set a record for the private equity firm.
In 2025 he founded Mint Global Logistics in Jacksonville with a clear goal: create a more flexible, technology-enabled, and genuinely customer-focused alternative to traditional freight forwarding. His approach centers on adaptability, creative problem-solving, and taking full ownership when shipments get complicated. He prefers customized solutions over one-size-fits-all processes, with a focus on reducing costs, improving transit times, and keeping supply chains moving under pressure.
Fluent in English and German with professional working proficiency in Italian, Thomas brings a natural international perspective to Mint’s growing network across the United States, Canada, Europe, and beyond.

Dave Epstein, Board Member
The original freight forwarder. His career is nothing short of a masterpiece (he founded and grew Masterpiece International into a global art logistics powerhouse). He still holds a customs broker license from the days they were carved in stone, and nobody knows the industry like Dave.
David has more than three decades of experience building specialized transportation and customs businesses. In 1989 he co-founded Masterpiece International in New York alongside David Cohen, recognizing that the fine-art world needed a logistics partner that could combine serious international expertise with highly personalized service.
Under his leadership, Masterpiece grew from a focused U.S. customs brokerage and freight forwarder into a nationally established organization with 16 company-owned offices across major gateways and port cities. Each location operates with licensed U.S. Customs Brokers and direct relationships with local authorities, giving clients real control over their shipments. The company also developed a multilingual culture that works effectively with museums, galleries, collectors, and partners around the world.
Today David is an active investor and advisor who applies that operating experience to supporting growing companies. He serves on the Board of Directors at Mint Global Logistics, contributing industry insight, relationships, and practical guidance as the company expands its international platform.
